Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) is proud to announce the appointment of Anne Misak to the position of Healthy Food Program Manager. Ms Misak will develop, manage and promote CEF’s healthy food financing program for small businesses in Colorado’s food system, especially in low-income communities lacking convenient access to healthy fresh food.

The Healthy Food Program Manager position supports CEF’s participation in the Healthy Food Financing Initiative of the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and ReFresh, a national collaborative launched in 2014 by The Reinvestment Fund in Philadelphia, PA. The goal of these programs is to improve access to healthy foods in low-income urban and rural communities across the U.S. where long-standing barriers make it difficult for residents to live healthier, more stable lives and for communities to thrive.

Prior to moving to Colorado in 2014, Anne was a consultant for Opportunity Finance Network, a national network of CDFIs that invest in opportunities benefiting low-income, low-wealth, and other disadvantaged communities across America. She worked on a number of consulting projects related to healthy food access in Philadelphia. These included conducting community food assessments, performing program evaluations and writing grant reports on healthy food projects, and creating a strategic plan for a local food-relief organization to become a community food center. Anne also worked as a community organizer and environmental policy advocate and has extensive experience with cross-sector and food cooperatives.

Anne earned her Master of City Planning degree in community and economic development from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College in Ohio.

Anne will connect CEF with underserved communities throughout Colorado to provide flexible and affordable financing options for small businesses and start-ups supporting healthy food access.
