Communities are safer and more vibrant when local economies are thriving, especially when opportunities are available to expand small business ownership.

The Transforming Safety project supports community development and focuses on preventing crime by focusing on economic and community development in specific neighborhoods more impacted by crime and justice system involvement. 

Our goal at CEF is to help transform areas that have historically experienced a higher rate of crime by reinvesting in our very own communities with access to small business loans.

Currently, this program is available in 4 zip codes in Southeast Colorado Springs: 80909, 80910, 80911, and 80916. Click to see the eligibility map for this program.

Loan Details
Loans: $1,000 up to $50,000 for              existing and startup businesses
Terms: Up to 60-months. After 3 years of good payment history, borrower may be eligible to have the remaining balance forgiven- please talk to CEF about eligibility requirements.
 Rate: Fixed

Ernest and Jackie are eager to expand the flavors of the south as business continues to grow and hope to open a second food truck or brick and mortar shop.
