Q&A with Owner, Jerry Marano

How did the idea for your business come about? 
I was inspired by a friend mentioning a doggie ice cream brick and mortar on the east coast that he visited.

Describe your typical customer and what you love about your customers?
Must love dogs! Our customers spoil their pups and we LOVE spoiling all the puppers, dog lovers are the best peeps!

What led your business to seek out new/additional funding?
Starting from scratch, so I needed a bit of a boost!

How did you find out about CEF? 
I was referred by One Main Financial. 

What ultimately made you decide to go with CEF as your lender?
Everyone was so nice and supportive.

What were you able to do with the funding you received from CEF? 
I was able to get the ball rolling with equipment and event fees. I should have asked for a little more, but we’re trying!

What advice would you give to another small business owner going through the loan process?
I would say ask for quite a bit more than you think you need. I’ve run into many unexpected costs, and wish I would have built in a bit more cushion.

What is something you're looking forward to in the next 3-6 months in your business? 
I’m looking forward to getting my product in as many stores as possible.
